Story
In 2023 we decided to home educate our son because it was clear to see the school system didn't fit for him. He was struggling with symptoms of overwhelm and ADHD. I noticed he was much calmer in nature, so we went to Forest Schools both in Lancashire and Cumbria and had a blast! I started thinking, there is something to this...
Children playing in the woods but much more than that.
His confidence sky rocketed.
His awe of nature is inspiring.
His knowledge of birds, mushrooms, leaves, trees is better than most adults.
He was happy.
His symptoms improved in nature.
Training
I began my Forest School training in Grizedale Forest in 2025 with Kindling and I've been running sessions ever since.
​Children (and adults!) need to play.
Their brains need nature.
Our children are exhausted from the overstimulation and expectation of the modern world.
Vision
A place for children to be children.
To be free.
To be with mixed ages.
To grow in team building, confidence, knowledge of the natural world.

To create.
To build.
To sing.
